Disorganised trip to the Isle of Jura 21/22/23 April 2006

I left my camera in the car on the Arran Ferry, so the first shot is on the short transfer from Port Askaig on Arran to Feolin Ferry on Jura.
Paps in clear view all the way.
Port Askaig Lifeboat. bristling with aerials,
looking smart and very efficient.
  Lesley and Stan getting chummy
Approaching the rather bleak landing ramp at Feolin Ferry
The view from the front lawn of the Craighouse Hotel. Distillery on the left, Paps of Jura on the right.
Saturday morning we took Jim's car up the road about 5km to the bridge over the Corran River.
The extra bodies got a lift in the Hotel owners Volvo.
Weather looks ok at this point- I even had my shorts on.
Climbing up from the col between Beinn Shiantaidh and Corra Bheinn, on the rocks now.
Getting grey and cold, legs were well covered by this time.
On Beinn Shiantaidh 757m.
Behind are Beinn a' Chaolais 733m (Centre)
and Beinn an Oir 785m (Right)
It was blowing hard now and starting to rain. We had intended to do all three, but after ascending B an O by the grassy ramp below the screes, we called it a day when the rain turned to sleet and the wind showed no sign of letting up.
Next day, as we left, the sun shone, of course.
Here the wee ferry comes to meet us.
Caol Ila Distillery on Arran is seen on the shore behind.
Looking down on the loading ramp of the big ferry as we prepare to leave for the mainland, and the stragglers come aboard.
