Assynt, September 2005
"
Wet and Wild"

No --- not another theme park but a Highways weekend at the Assynt Field Centre.

The weather, as has been the case recently with September weekends away, was unpleasant with strong gusty winds, poor visibility and rain at times torrential. But as always the intrepid Highwaymen/persons were out on the hills, though not for very long in some cases. (Marischal Sinclair)

In fact, the weather was so bad that your scribe didn't take his camera on the hill, in case it got flooded.                Pictures below from Bob Fowler.

Sandy Bell's belated Munro Compleation Celebration

Frowns at the strangely
wrapped parcel,
given by Chairman,
Henry Kinloch

Delight on seeing
the contents

Sandy Bell kept his promise and duly
supplied fine wine and food on Saturday night.
The Club presented him with a suitably
engraved quaich, and something to put in it.

Eyes closed in ecstasy,
ready to taste
