HIGHWAYS HILLWALKING CLUB

EDINBURGH, SCOTLAND

WHO ARE WE?

 What's the Weather Like?

The Club is based in Edinburgh, with a membership of about 60, most living in the area.
It was founded in 1977, by employees of the local authority highways department.

Over the years the membership has evolved to include people from all walks of life, although the Edinburgh Council staff still have a strong presence.

We have an organized programme of day walks, on the second Sunday of every month.

There are also three official week-end trips, further afield, e.g. to Skye, Torridon, Assynt, normally in February, May and September. Transport for the Sunday outing is by bus, cars being used for the weekends.

Throughout the year, members are away as individuals or small groups, indulging in a range of activities, backpacking, cycling, climbing, Munro bagging- and now other lists!
